Final Curtain

This is probably not news to many out there, but I am way overdue in officially announcing that this website is no longer active.  I will neither be posting reviews of Huntsville-area theatre, nor will I be able to keep up with the lists of upcoming auditions and performances.  Because I am no longer paying for the web hosting, the website url will probably change (something with WordPress added), and there may be ads, but you should still be able to find the content for a while, since I don’t plan to actually delete the website any time soon.

Some of you will know that the page has not been active for a while.  Unfortunately for my theatre work, I am in the Army Reserve, and 18 months ago, I took on a very time-consuming job in the Reserves, which required a LOT of my “free” time.  For almost a year, I tried to keep up with seeing the shows, and writing the reviews, but it was very, very hard.  Adding the Reserve work into my schedule, on top of my day job, and family, it just became impossible to keep up with the shows and maintain my sanity and health.

Unfortunately, while my schedule will finally free up this summer (I will step down from that Reserve job), my regular employer has decided it is time for me to move.  I am already living in the D.C. area now.  Obviously, this puts a bit of a damper on any plans to keep up with shows in Huntsville.

It was a privilege and a joy to be the theatre reviewer for the Huntsville community, for the short time I had that honor.  I’m fairly certain that for about a year-and-a-half, I saw more shows than anyone else in the area, and I can assure you that there is some real talent around.  I wish everyone the best, and of course, for ever and always…
